Welcome
A very warm welcome to all of you for visiting our site the American Forensic Society, the only organization open to all, beginners and professionals alike.
To encourage study of and involvement in the growing and passive field of forensic and digital evidentiary process setting and meeting standards for investigative performance as well as civil and criminal litigations.
ABOUT US
Membership
We are here to help you every step of the way in your desire to expand your knowledge and understanding of forensic and digital evidential process.
We bring with us over 30 years of experience in criminal investigation, litigations and training our students to help achieve their goals.
Students
Anyone interested in advancing their knowledge and appreciation of forensic science weather in college or just a beginner. This is a good place to start. Membership fee is $20 year.
Professional Members
Associates
Open to those who have at least two years of college education in forensic studies or related field and one year of work experience in investigative work, law fum or law enforcement. Upon approval are entitled to use AAFS after their name. Board may set any additional requirement. Membership fee is $200 a year.
Members
Anyone who has an undergraduate degree in forensic studies or related field and at least 5 years of work experience as a private investigator, superior court jobs, law firm, attorneys, instructors, writers and contributors in a significant public or social media or as worked in a law enforcement agency. Membership is $300 a year and upon approval is entitled to use MAFS after their name
Fellows
This is the highest professional level of membership where members have either served on the AFS board for at least two years and has made significant contribution to the AFS mission and objectives, or has been a trial attorney for at least 10 years or held a senior post in law enforcement agency or has been a judicial officer or college instructor for 10 years in the field of forensic study or related field or has been an author or writer with significant contribution in forensic study, criminology, digital evidence, law or related field. All contributing writers must furbish proof of work published in a significant print or social media for the benefit of general public.
Board's right
Board has the right to deny an application for a certain category, relax certain requirements or ask for additional evidence to support the application.
